The Department of Science and Technology Region 1 (DOST1) in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Carlos City has launched a Science Expo Caravan at the Arenas-Resuello Sports Complex, November 6-9.
The caravan showcased the different products and interactive science exhibits, technology fora, and technology training to further enhance the appreciation of science and technology in San Carlos City.
The DepEd-San Carlos City Division has actively participated through the initiatives of Dr. Sheila Marie Primicias, Schools Division Superintendent and Dr. Jesusa Macam, Education Program Supervisor in Science. They were assisted by Mr. Warlito dela Cruz (Pangalangan NHS) and Mr. Eddie Cabatbat (SEPNAS) who were the persons in-charge in the Interactive Science Exhibits, Dr. Virgilio Ferrer (Bacnar NHS) and Mr. Donald Dennis Doria (Malacanang NHS) for Mobile Planetarium and Mrs. Lilibeth Tulagan (Tandoc NHS) and Dr. Peter Rosario (Agdao IS) for Robotics Seminar/Workshop respectively.
Private and public elementary and secondary learners experienced the “Wooow” and “Oooooh” as they actively engaged in the Interactive Science Exhibits and Mobile Planetarium. Selected learners from different schools were convened to attend the Sumobot Robotics Seminar/Workshop and further joined in the competitions.
Among the participating schools, the Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School (SEPNAS) team bagged the 1st place followed by Clark Educational Center team while Malacanang NHS & Agdao IS teams placed 3rd in the competition.
