These lines signify the oneness of all the BSP Joiners aiming to become men of good character! As per veined in this set up, the grand opening of the 41st Pangasinan-San Carlos City Council Jamboree was conducted at the SEPNAS Mamarlao Area on November 15.
After 30 years, it was an accomplishment and again one of the firsts in the realm of San Carlos City Division on hosting big events as such. The jamboree was formally commenced with a blast! As always, the SDO-SCC worked hard for its preparation through the leadership of Dr. Sheila Marie Primicias, Schools Division Superintendent
On the second and third day of the event was the conduct of the modules for Boy Scouting, Senior Scouting and Special Activities, respectively. Each scouter was given an activity card as each participated in various tasks. The inclusion of the modules are as follows: Module 1- Scout Skills such as lashing, Semaphore Signaling, Life Saving and CPR/BLS; Module 2- Messenger of Peace focusing on peace covenant, prayer warrior, crane making, peace meditation and MOP; Module 3- Outdoor Exploration like nature art and tree planting; Special Activity-Team Building which includes human table football, human knot, caterpillar race, ecological waste management/handicraft making.
“Para alam nila ang mga dapat gawin nang makasurvive sila. Dalawang klase ‘yong activity na ito. Una ‘yong improvised buoya (salbabida) at yung bandaging. Kaya mahalaga na matutuhan nila ito para sa survival na tinatawag natin,” Mr. Reynante Caguioa, a responder from CDRRMO San Carlos City said in an interview when asked about the importance of the activity. With him on the task was Mr. Mherjun Ferrer, a registered nurse and the one assigned to do the lecture. In the photo, Ferrer and Caguioa demonstrated a sample lifesaving strategy.
Meanwhile, Kawan Holiday and Palabas were graced by the presence of the respected judges namely Joenard Estrada Manuel, Janine Abigail Soriano, Francis Soriano and all the members of Dangoan Pangasinan dance troupe. Then, in Skill O-Rama suspended flag pole raising, Scouters from Agno were announced as the champion in the Elementary level. For the secondary, Abanon got the 3rd place, SEPNAS, 2nd and Malacaňang clinched the champ post.
The 41st BSP Jamboree was anchored on the theme “Commitment to Excellence”. The theme per se manifested the willingness of every scouter to uphold programs for growth in ideals, highlight useful skills with enjoyment and develop home and family-centered activities. Thus, they could have a holistic approach through combining fun and learning.
Moreover, the provincial jamboree aimed to prepare the youths for responsible leadership and to contribute to nation-building as a whole in accordance with the ideals, principles and programs of scouting.
The ISO BSP 41st Pangasinan- San Carlos City Council Jamboree was awesomely commenced, thus, will end spectacularly on the 18th.
