Mostly clad in mint green T-shirts, the participants to the 41st Pangasinan-San Carlos City Council Jamboree gathered in front of the stage in SEPNAS Farmsite, Mamarlao, San Carlos City, Pangasinan at 8:00 A.M. of November 18 for the Closing Program and Awarding Ceremony.

 

 

Trophies made of fiber glass in green and red motifs, carefully arranged on a table added to the atmosphere of realization that the four-day encampment participated in by thousands of boy scouts from the Pangasinan I, Alaminos City and San Carlos City divisions is over.

The Closing Program hosted by Miss Racquel G. Garcia and Mr. Gilbert S. Baysic, both teachers of SEPNAS, began at 8:15 A.M. with the singing of a nationalistic song, “Pilipinas Kong Mahal”  and a religious song, “Lead Me Lord”.

 

Mr. Vivencio  Vinluan, the BSP Chief Executive, together with Mr. Villamor Q. Gloria, SGOD Chief and Mr. Marlon B. Ecol, EPS of the SGOD Unit, headed the awarding of trophies to the winners in the different categories which are as follows: TALENT SHOW  (Elementary – 1st place – Central I ES, San Carlos City; 2nd place – Abanon Central School, San Carlos City; 3rd place – Sto. Domingo ES, Sual District);  (High School – 1st place – SEPNAS, San Carlos City; 2nd place – Libas NHS, San Carlos City; 3rd place – Pangalangan NHS, San Carlos City); (Scout Masters – 1st place – Ketegan NHS ( District II); 2nd place – Lingayen I; 3rd place – Sta Barbara); KNOT TYING – (Elementary – 1st place – Sta. Barbara); High School –  (1st place – Malacañang NHS; 2nd place – Pangasinan School of Arts and Trade; 3rd place – Parayao NHS); BEST IN CAMP SET-UP – Elementary –  (1st place – Burgos District; 2nd place – Aguilar Integrated School; 3rd place – San Carlos City District II – B); High School – (1st place – Malacañang NHS; 2nd place – Parayao NHS; 3rd place – SEPNAS); CLEAN AND ORDERLY CAMP – Elementary (1st place – Lingayen I; 2nd place – Burgos District; 3rd place – Aguilar Integrated School); High School – (1st place – Malacañang NHS; 2nd place – SEPNAS; 3rd place – Basista NHS);  FARTHEST CONTINGENT – Elementary – Infanta District; High School – Infanta Integrated School; LARGEST CONTINGENT – Elementary – Mabini District; High School – Basista NHS).  Abanon National High School also received a trophy for being the 1st place in Poster-Making contest during the Peace Rally.

 

 

After the awarding ceremony, the lowering and retrieval of flags by the boy scouts of Mabalbalino National High School came next in the following order: Council Flag, BSP Flag, Jamboree Flag, Provincial Flag, and Philippine Flag.  The said flags were turned over to the BSP Executive Council through Mr. Vivencio Vinluan.  The program ended at 9:17 A.M.

 

As the scouts dismantle their tents and pack up, Mr. Lyndon Baguio, one of the scout masters, reminded everyone about CLAYGO (Clean As You Go) and to cover all the pits/holes dug in the campsite.
